Charlie McGill
CEO
Charlie has over a decade of experience leading early-stage, private equity and listed businesses in the renewable energy and resources sectors. Charlie began his business career investment banking at Morgan Stanley in New York before being appointed COO of ASX-listed Austal. Charlie later served as Group Vice President of Incitec Pivot (now Dyno Nobel) and as an executive of Wesfarmers M&A and strategy team. He has since been appointed CFO of a range of ASX-listed and private companies, and is currently a Senior Advisor to India-based lithium battery recycler Lohum. Charlie served six years as a Naval Officer in surface warfare and special forces, and was the youngest officer ever to be appointed Administrative Aide to the Secretary of the Navy in the Pentagon.

SJ Oosthuizen
CTO
Shaun is a Fellow of Engineers Australia with over 20 years of experience in natural resources and renewables. Working across four continents, Shaun has patented and scaled-up material-science technologies for organisations including Boeing, BHP, CSIRO, NASA, Rio Tinto, and the University of Cambridge. Shaun has developed novel processes and membrane systems tailored to desalination, product recovery and drinking water production from mining and industrial effluents. He has also piloted hydro, pyrometallurgical and electrochemical systems for the low-cost manufacture of lithium metal, alloys, and salts.

Vince McBeth
V.P - North America
Vince joined ElectraLith in early 2025 from Sydney-based and In-Q-Tel-backed startup Q-CTRL where he led strategy and business development in the US and UK. Prior to Q-CTRL, Vince was Managing Partner of Gartner (NYSE: IT) where he led the company’s defense consulting practice. Vince was previously Founder and President of The McBeth Group International, an independent defense technology consultancy. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Vince is also a distinguished and exceptionally well-regarded former Naval Officer. In his 22 years of service, Vince commanded two warships, was a White House Fellow, served as Aide to the Secretary of the Navy, and served as Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Damien Edwards

Damien has over 20 years of diverse experience in multinational companies, and has had a range of roles from detailed engineering and product development to project management and strategic consultation. As a goal-driven engineering leader, he is adept at navigating challenging and dynamic environments to deliver high-end projects and technology solutions. His engineering expertise is complemented by a strong client focus, enabling him to consistently exceed targets and expectations through operational efficiency and engineering excellence.

Emma Petrie
General Manager - Operations
Emma is an operations and program management professional with over six years’ experience in research translation, working across research institutes and the US biotechnology sector. Prior to joining ElectraLith, Emma was a Senior Program Manager at Replay, a US-based Series A funded cell and gene therapy biotechnology company. Emma’s background in program and operations management is consolidated by a 17+ year academic career in biomedical research in the field of structural biology. During this time Emma generated over 30 publications and was involved in commercial drug discovery programs.

José Arredondo
Head of Business Development & Strategy
José has more than eight years of experience in investment fund management, private equity, and banking, working with firms such as Finvenergy and Intercam in Mexico. He also served as a Senior Strategy Consultant for KPMG's Global Strategy Group in Mexico. Prior to joining ElectraLith, José completed an MBA while working at the Woodside Monash Energy Partnership.

Mike is the Managing Director of IP Group Australia, with extensive experience in company development, scientific research, and commercialising innovation. He has worked across Australia and New Zealand and serves on the boards of portfolio companies including Hysata, AMSL Aero, Electralith, and Additive Assurance. Mike has over a decade of experience supporting disruptive early stage companies across the UK and Australia.

Callum Benson
Monash University
Callum has spent his career at the intersection of deeptech and commercialisation, with extensive experience working in and with deep tech startups, including commercial roles in high growth startups in the UK and establishing and investing in spinouts from the University of Cambridge and, more recently, Monash. He has worked across a range of technical areas including Physical Sciences, Software, and MedTech, with a particular focus on Climate Tech, and has developed a deep understanding of the challenges research intensive companies face and how to help them navigate the journey to market.

Jun Qu
Main Sequence
Jun Qu is a Principal at Main Sequence, where he supports Australian deep tech companies across industrial productivity, sustainability, and advanced technologies. His background spans engineering, strategy, venture investing, and operations, with a focus on helping scientists and founders commercialise breakthrough technologies. Before Main Sequence, he worked at the Altona Refinery, completed his MBA at Stanford, and later advised energy and manufacturing clients at McKinsey & Company in San Francisco.
